Job Description

Responsible for calculating, posting, verifying, and recording of financial transactions to provide accurate financial information necessary for corporate reporting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Ø (Please quantify each with a % of time spent on each duty and responsibility – must add up to 100%)

Ø 95% - Responsible for calculating, posting, verifying, and recording of financial transactions to provide accurate financial information necessary for corporate reporting.

§ Reviews and signs off on bank reconciliations, tax returns, and financial statement audit schedules prepared by Accountant.

§ Prepares, examines, and/or analyzes accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.

§ Understands the daily cash needs of STARTEK and prepares cash forecasting projections.

§ Analyzes business operations to evaluate their efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with corporate policies and procedures, government regulations, including but not limited to GAAP and SOX.

§ Preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs. Advises management about variances between the two.

§ Examines and evaluate internal controls to ensure that records are accurate and controls are adequate to protect against fraud and waste. Standardizes internal controls.

§ Recommends improvements to accounting processes, such as month-end reporting.

§ Researches and trouble-shoots discrepancies.

Ø 5% - May perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned and/or required.

Job Requirements

Education and/or formal training:

Ø Requires a Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Accounting/Finance from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Ø Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Ø Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

Ø Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

Ø Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
